Sheila, if you're near VFW Post 10167 at 4619 Bartelt Rd, Holiday, FL simply put the old flag in a plastic bag and drop it off. We will ensure the flag is disposed of properly and with dignity.
Most Veteran Posts take them. Some have boxes in front for drop offs.
