I have 300-400 lbs of HDPE in 1" thick plates that are 2 - 6 square feet in size each. They were used to make chairs for a college senior project. Can you accept these for recycling and is there a fee?

Hi Barbara! Those are not recyclable at our facility, or any facility around here that I'm aware of. Like Steven recommended, I would try either P&T Surplus, the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, or the New Paltz Reuse Center to see if they would accept them. You could also try offering them on sites like FreeCycle.com or Facebook Marketplace. Otherwise they would be considered trash. Please feel free to call our recycling hotline at (845) 336-3336 if you have any further questions.

They are closed on the weekend, I believe. Instead of recycling, repurpose. P & T Surplus may take them. They are located down on the Strand area of Kingston
