The tramway ride is great, especially for kids.

It was a great experience. It's all run by volunteers that care about preserving the local history. Beautiful little ride down the Hudson past the light house and the museum has lots of original antique trains and pieces. They have an adorable gift shop and area with tons of original memorabilia. Well worth a visit.

Quiet small, but enjoyable. The ride on the old trolley was fun.

Great place to visit with family and friends

From their website: "Our operating season runs from Saturday, April 25th through Sunday, October 31st"
Yes
I know the Q car has been moved inside the building but the Hudson tube cars because of the state of repair needed and the City of Kingston forcing the musuem to get rid of numerous cars (7 in total) that were on the property, the Hudson tube cars were dismantled and parts donated to multiple Railroad/trolley Museums. The City of Kingston owns the property and the trolley museum just leases space from them and this all happened with the beautification of the rondout area at the time the the city put the new parking lot in front of the museum
The operating season has ended at the trolley museum for the year. Reopening in the Spring. The R16 is still here.
The Trolley Museum is seasonal from Mother's Day through Halloween weekends and Holidays from noon to five PM and select Friday and Saturday evenings. We are weather dependent, so please check the forecast before heading over.
