How do we know when the park is at capacity without actually driving there to find out? Drove 3 hours today. Got there at 11 and couldn't get in.

Early arrival is the key.

Unfortunately its not something you can predict. Best bet is to purchase tickets ahead of time for the day you plan on coming. Or also definitely get the early

First come first serve they update their app frequently it the best way

Thats a question I cant answer. I prepurchased my tickets for a 4 day span so wasn't an issue. Universal opens at 9. Maybe get there earlier, I'm guessing Saturday a busy day.
