Florida resident discounts will apply to special events like Halloween horror nights or Mardi Gras, and also for ticket packages greater than one day. They also offer discounts to Florida residents for annual passes as well.
When I purchased I compared florida resident prices to regular prices, and the day pass was the same. I do think Florida residents get annual pass discounts.
