Most airlines allow children to travel alone as early as 5yrs old. They do have separate security and boarding procedures for “unaccompanied minors” however for their safety. Check with your airline when booking and they will set up the travel for your child hassle free. They’ll connect to you with the airport, security, escort, ect.
You would have to check with the individual airline on their policy for unaccompanied minor policy and you will likely if allowed to fly purchase the unaccompanied minor pass.
I allowed my son to travel alone and he had a wonderful flight. The flight crew were very attentive. Children are boarded before other passengers and usually escorted off the plane last. Check with your airline for there procedures for children flying without alone.
Most airlines have add-on charge for child traveling alone. At the check-in counter they will be able to help you
