Our experience has proven that all dogs, including service dogs, have posed a physical and stressful threat to the animals in our zoo as they are visually seen by animals viewing them as a predator and/or prey therefore although we do not allow service dogs at the zoo in our non-animal areas, we prohibit their entering areas where our animals our housed and/or exhibited in our out of their habitats. We do however offer a boarding area for such animals while their owners are visiting those areas. There is not extra charge for this service. We feel this policy takes both the dog's and the zoo animal's best interests into concern as well as the individuals they service and other zoo patrons.
A service dog for an ADA covered disability is allowed in all businesses of public accommodation. A service dog and an emotional support dog are not the same thing. State and federal law does not require businesses to allow support dogs.
