The place has made some progress since weβve last visited. Younger staff need more Manner and should be off there phone when guest speak to them. the animals looked depressed according to my daughter. No sufficient food source Lion was panting to the point of non movement concerning

Some do, some don't, but there is usually someone working who can translate.
If you really hide him well! They frown on this!
The owner is very passionate about this and hurt by accusations! He adamantly denies this;
You may bring food and drinks with you or take the road into Salinas;
$ 20.00 per person
Many facilities have adopted new policies for this recently, to include Disneyland that no longer allows large privately owned strollers in the park. Six Flags is exploring the same. We had many complaints from parents about their "paying" children being unable to get close to animals due to "non-paying" infants in strollers being parked in their way. We witnessed this and agreed it was unfair. The strollers have also become transports for items being used to set up "camps" in the zoos, to include toys, playpens, food, etc... that our walkways have no room for. Lastly, we were experiencing too many arguments between staff and guests regarding the "true" age of a child, some 3+ feet tall, walking and talking with parents telling us that the child was under two years of age and demanding their free admittance... For those reasons, if the we charge for all children and/or strollers unless the child is an infant, carried by its parent. We hope all understand and agree.
Hello! We operate Oxton Kennels and Pet Resort on the same property so you are welcome to have your buddy stay with us while you visit.
Our experience has proven that all dogs, including service dogs, have posed a physical and stressful threat to the animals in our zoo as they are visually seen by animals viewing them as a predator and/or prey therefore although we do not allow service dogs at the zoo in our non-animal areas, we prohibit their entering areas where our animals our housed and/or exhibited in our out of their habitats. We do however offer a boarding area for such animals while their owners are visiting those areas. There is not extra charge for this service. We feel this policy takes both the dog's and the zoo animal's best interests into concern as well as the individuals they service and other zoo patrons.
It's $16 for adult ticket, plus $7 if you want to feed the elephants.
Yes it is a guided tour as it has been for over twenty years, prior to our hopes and dreams to open as a more traditional zoo. It's not due to staffing issues as tours require far more staffing... The plan is VERY apparent and under-way as you will see at the facility. Construction is happening as quickly as physically / financially possible. Until it's completion (early 2019), it remains a guided tour due to State and Federal laws. Infants carried on a parent's person are not charged. Those old enough to walk and enjoy being at the facility as well as those in strollers (taking up the space of those paying to be here) are charged a child admission. Our entrance fee is extremely minimal compared to the cost of maintaining and offering such a facility in California... Due to the difficulty we had in the past with people being honest about the age limits of their kids and complaints from paying customers about strollers, we had to change to this policy and feel it is a fair one. The Family (2 adults, 2 children) annual pass costs $115, with an additional $15 for each additional child. There is a "plus" version for $145, $20 per additional child. An individual annual pass is $40, with $25 for a guest. The "plus" pass for individuals is $50. The "plus" includes 10% off at the gift shop and daily elephant "meet and greets." Per the site: "discount for seniors, active military, active police and fire personnel or students β all must have valid ID." The discount is $5 on an individual pass, and $10 on an individual plus pass.

The daily tours are $16 eavh. $14 for children. :)
It depends on what you want to do.
You do pay to go in. Its not much but all the money goes to care for zoo. Its worth every cent because you get close to the animals. The website has the prices
Theres only one tour a day and its guided. If you need to sketch the animals I would call and ask. I don't think they would mind.
