It's a nature preserve. There are not fences except in the parking area. Wildlife is far more scared of us than we are of them. If you don't try to approach the animals, you won't have any problems. It's safe and very kid friendly.

Yes, very kid friendly. They ask that you stay on the trails, but the wildlife if definitely part of the appeal.
