VA Hospital would not have that information you probably could contact a service Organization for the metals. There are three organizations in the hospital that might be able to help you with the medals but the hospital itself cannot give you those types of record

I go to the Leavenworth VA Medical Center, 913-682-2000, ask for VFW and they'll transfer you with replacement metals information. You'll need his DD 215 and 214, and maybe his birth certificate or death certificate. You may need your BC to show your relation to him. It would help if you know when he served and with who he served (his unit). If they can't help you, they can at least direct you where to go and what to do. SF 180 will request military records.
