I have nothing but good things to say about this VA facility. I started my primary care a few months ago and every single interaction I've had with staff has always been positive. On my first visit I didn't know exactly where to go and a staff member could tell without me even asking and walked me right to where I needed to be. More than once, I was helped by someone that had nothing to do with the particular department I was dealing with-but made sure I was seen by someone that could help. I haven't waited more than 15 minutes at any of my appointments to be seen as apparently this facility has a sense of direction and is dedicated to providing service to veterans.

Walked in the ER at 8:45am, on Sunday only to wait in the foyer, no heat, locked out for 15 minutes. Had to call in on a phone and was NOT told if my husband was going to be seen. Note, my dogs did not stay outside because of the 3 degree temps. I basically pushed my husband through the sliding doors as a staff member was exiting. These people forget who they are to service. Surveys has been completed on the inhumane treatment, however nothing is better. We only come here when we absolutely HAVE to. It is sickening how they treat my husband and all the veterans.

They take very good care of veterans here. I have been treated by 7 different VA hospitals. This is the best.

Best VA around, hands down. We’ve been to KC’s VA several times, and they have nothing compared to here. Place is friendly with polite employees even when someone is a little hard to deal with. Clean and roomy waiting rooms(current location) with a comfortable feel. It’s nice to know our vets don’t have to go to a place and feel like a number! So far with as many times as we have been here, couldn’t have asked for a better staff. I know we can’t change the diagnosis as we would like, but it’s great not to feel like we are walking into total chaos. Best VA around

Donations are handled through our amazing Voluntary Services department. If you call the hospital, ask for that department and they will be happy to assist you.
Yes
Unfortunately he will have to seek help on his own but you can encourage him. Call the hospital and get the crisis number for him.
Prabably. You just need to call. If you or husband is a vet they can direct you to someone who can help.
Yes, they do have apartments and rentals there on the grounds. The VA doesn't manage them...an outside property management company is contracted for that.
VA Hospital would not have that information you probably could contact a service Organization for the metals. There are three organizations in the hospital that might be able to help you with the medals but the hospital itself cannot give you those types of record
Basically the Community Living Center is an assisted living center for Veterans. Its suposed to feel like home . They have also taken some of the old buildings an complerely remoldeled them into apartments and they are are rented to any one .
Yes. But come Oct 1st 2019 you cannot. The whole campus will be smoke free.
No pets boarding. This is a place to care for the veterans
You have to have a referral from your primary care team. They definitely have vision care and on site store. My husband got glasses made there last year.
You can through my healthvet
There are apartments available on the facility. You will need to contact them @ (913) 250-5675 for requirements
No the only way that would happen is if your condition improves
