The Pacific ocean off the coast of Carpinteria in winter, doesn't vary too much 57-59. Ocean temperature changes from warmer in southern California to cooler in northern California ( depending on ocean current). Spring begins the big warming, of course winter cools, as weather and currents change. There is a 10-15 degree difference from Summer to Winter
