They always have someone at the door waiting to glance that you have a membership card. If you dont... you can tell them you want to go look around and they will let you, no problem but everyone is right. They will not allow you to buy anything because once you get to the register you must have your card but they don't ask for it at the little hot dog/pizza drinks area.Its not like when costco was in martinez and they would allow you to go in and buy once for free. Personally sometimes its hard for me to afford the membership fee but when you look at the savings you get its very much worth it. Yes you need to buy everything in bulk but look at it this way you know your always going to need T.P. you would pay about double to get the Same amount at the grocery store.
You can get a 1 day pass and shop to see if you like it. However you will have to pay a 10% upcharge on your total purchase. So depending on how much your buying the upcharge may be more than the cost of a basic membership.
You can always go in to browse, but the only items you can buy without a membership are in their food service area.

You can't buy anything without a membership, but you can certainly go in and look around. Sometimes they have a greeter who might look at your membership card, but you can still go in.
I think they let you do that. Go in and talk to customer service.
