Every other week and there is no phase after 4 so you keep going until you are done with the clinic
Brian believes that people can NOT get off the clinic and attached to 'liquid handcuffs'. this is a bad misconception, let it be known that MANY people successfully get off of methadone when the drug no longer benefits them in their recovery journeys. Once they get a handle on some coping skills and stress management and relapse prevention and able to deal with life on life's terms like a person who is not physically dependent on drugs with a toolbox of resources, then the person will be able to taper off the methadone with minimal to no withdrawals. The problem is people are not patient and rip themselves off of it when they are not ready to do so or they get discharged for not following the program, and that will have bad effects. However, it is possible with support and the correct mindset to use methadone and get off successfully and live a full, productive, and happy life after they conquer their addictions. Sounds like Brian didn't make it that far. Keep coming Brian!
