It sounds as though you may have either more then one day tickets or more then one park tickets or have express tickets added as well as that price is more then two one park one day tickets would cost
There's no way that Two 1day/1park tickets do not cost that much. I work there, I should know. Go to Universal website and try again.
Because the park cost over 1 billion dollars to create. And they need to recover their money somehow. They are running at 50% capacity and had to hire more people to disinfect surfaces and tell you to wear a mask. Costs are up, revenue is down.
I just purchased a 1 day, 1 park ticket for me and my wife and it only came out to just over $200.
Prices compared to other parks in the area are very reasonable. They usually always have a ticket deal to save some money. I'd keep searching, $800 is too much.
Pandemic
It is just like a hotel room right now even the car rentals are up sky high the companies want to recover one way or another so as they see the opportunity they are charging high rates
It shouldn't be quite that much unless you're out of state trying to buy annual passes. They've got a lot of fun stuff and it's pretty darn safe so you do get what you pay for. In state, student (I think) and military can all get discounts so maybe try to talk to guest services.
Cool
It's always been like that, seems more now only allowing so many to enter which looks packed regardless
Buy way in advance
Because it was not built for poor people😆
Buy directly from Universal, online, not at the door.

They have discounts tick place down there. And for 3 nights for one ticket is$ 179
