Very Few Hospitals have an open MRI as the diagnostic capabilities of these are inferior to a closed MRI... However, Osceola Regional has 3 GE MRIs... Two 1.5 Tesla units and one 3.0 Tesla... One of them was just installed in July 2017 and features a "Wide and Sort Bore" The biggest opening in a closed unit... to help those patients with claustrophobia... It is also very fast which helps reduce the time in the MRI... Beyond the MRI, the most important comment is the Radiologist who does the reading. Osceola Regional has a large group of top moth heads radiologist in house, vs whatever or whomever they may use at an outpatient open MRI center...
