I liked the walking trail by the waters edge out to the point that loops around past the monuments. I would go back again to walk that trail. There is a free and interesting video in the visitors center and clean bathrooms.

There's not a lake BUT the trails end at a small beach where many people take their dogs. The beach is accessible by boat. Visitor center is very nice and has historical displays about the local Indian settlers. Check the schedule for the live interactive displays. There are volunteers who thoroughly enjoy being there and are full of information
