I just purchased a pork butt (2 in a package) . when I opened them to sparate there is a strange odor. Not ammonia,not a spoiled smell but not a nice smell. I have never smelled this odor before.packing date is March 9, selling date is March 17,2018.

K & J cut their meat fresh. Must meats are hung up for about a week before cutting, sometimes longer. This allows a lot of the blood to drain. The fresher the meat is cut the stronger the blood smell. If meat is spoiled smelling or grey, don't eat it. Fresh cut can have a similar smell like wild game. The best advice is when in doubt, take it back. K & J will replace or refund.
