You can try, but not sure there is anything to catch other than frogs! But you can fish off the river bank. You can wade in and fly fish, as it's pretty shallow. People successfully catch fish there all the time.
Haven't seen anyone catch anything other then frog's out of there.
There's frogs in there, but I don't believe any fish.
