Is the train ride cash only? Can you use a debit or credit card?

I just rode and paid with Mastercard.

I'm pretty sure it's cash only also. It's $1 each way. If you have a TAP card from Los Angeles metro it is $0.50 each way

Sydney is wrong. Cash only. There is a convenience store near top station with ATM you can get cash.

I think the cash only answers are correct. You can ride up from the bottom, but they don't take money there. You pay at the top for both decending and ascending trips.
