Yes it is worth it!! I go all the way from Chicago.
For the photo op, if you're doing other things in L.A., yeah. The donuts are fine, but they're still just donuts. They good, but certainly not the best. It's all about the "I've been there!" factor

Randy's has a cult like following of people from the US and other countries. At peak times, there is a line with a 20 to 40 minute wait.
If you're in OC, go to Sidecar donuts. Randy's would be a long drive, in traffic, for a donut. If flying in/out of LAX, stop when your near the airport.
Oh yes. If you love donuts. People come from other countries. I come from South Carolina.
I have travel 30 miles just to get donuts from Randys the Glaze donut is the best
Kinda far. Catch Randys when near LAX
If you've never been and want to cross it off your list of iconic places to try then yes. But there's nothing special about their donuts in my opinion.
