Do you have the history of the rock wall that snakes through the park? it goes east to west and most of the time, is covered by all the greenery that comes with spring and summer. Who built it, in what year was it built, and any other information.

I grew up on the Prairie center before it was a state park. The land was owned by Mr. Schanze, who my parents bought their house and land from. I am not quite sure but I believe it was passed down in his family. I will see if I can find out more when I talk to my parents next. The was a tragic story tied to him that I will not post publicly. I know that park well. Such good memories. It was almost magical.

I’ve wondered the same thing!

I don't know the answer to your question, but I do know there were other structures there in the past. That would be a question for one of the guides. They would know the answer. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
