I wouldn't. Robert the range officer has over 20 yrs experience building ar 15 and ar 10 rifles. He is fully aware of liberal California firearm laws. He will probably have you keep it in your vehicle.
I wouldn’t bring a non-compliant AR-15 either. The RSO’s do walk up and down the line specifically looking at AR’15’s to insure that they are compliant. I know this because I was shooting my AR-15 with evil features (pistol grip, telescoping stock) and they looked closely at my JT Juggernaut and maglock set-up. RSO gave me the thumbs up and was able to continue shooting.
Featureless yes. Non compliant unregistered assualt weapon. I wouldnt risk it. The range is subject to random checks.
How can they check if you have it registered as an AW? I'd never do that but I'm just curious
