State of the art facility and the range officers are friendly enough and knowledgeable but there’s one stupid rule that needs to be abolished that to me only serves one purpose and that is as a barrier to limit the level of skill you can acquire training with your firearm. No rapid firing/no more than 1 round sent every 2 seconds. You can get away with double tapping but only every 2 seconds. The range officers will tell you to “slow it down ! (whichever lane you’re in)”. I can see such a rule being implemented at an indoor range where report from firing is more concussive to the neighboring lanes but for an outdoor range it’s pretty ridiculous and is obviously only serving one purpose. To limit the skill level you can achieve with your firearm of choice. They really need to lose that skill kill rule for me to be as frequent of a customer as I’d like to be.

Great facility, great set ups for clays, rifles, and handguns. Probably one of three government-run places in the country that feels like a private club. The ladies at the front desk are always cheerful and helpful. Safety protocols are spot on.

Pro Great range cheap and very nice brand new and an easy drive it’s great and only wish they would run courses but over all a very good range and not to fudd but still accommodating to serious shooter who shoot for work. Large trap and skeet stages with golf carts to rent Con no flat bays and no night shoots

Excellent day at the range. Not sure about negative comments, especially about the RSO's. They are just trying to keep us all alive. The trucks are out and the site and road paving has begun. They have corrected the water on the access road problem and I look forward to the completion of the project. Thanks to all involved for getting this done.

We built a 1400 mile AlCan highway in less than a year during WWII.
I hear you, getting out of hand. Government job probably run over budget and way past expected completion.
And now it is the fall of 2019 and we are still waiting.
Let's get Trump to build it. We will be shooting next month.
That's what happens when you chose the lowest bidder with unqualified workers.you get what you pay for.I have seen whole communities get built quicker
I have access to my Google page listing and am able to answer questions and reply to reviews... lol
Typical government cluster F...
David: It'll probably be 2020 before it opens to the public. Boy, are you optimistic! We will all witness the Second Coming before this place opens. Even the rep at FWC basically says "beats me."
Not as a couple of weeks ago when I went out there. But it looks like it is close to that point. I did see that they have hired a facility manager so I would think that it would be opening up soon. But then again it has been delayed a bunch since it was announced.
Nope , they say late fall, just finishing up all the permitting and things.
Not even close
It is not complete for sure but it is open to the public now. It has a pistol range and a 100 and 200 yard rifle range. Hope this helps
Reservations are no longer required
Not as far as I know.
Not Shore.
Some people say by the end of the year, but I've talked with people who've said they have said that for many years. Fingers crossed it will be soon
Supposedly this fall , but I am betting it will be spring of 2020 before it opens
It looks like they are looking for staff now according to their web page.
Still looks closed as of 11/2019
I go to Okeechobee shooting sports to get out of palm beach county.
Your best answer to your question is to forget it ever was mentioned. Once you obtain this release, the day it opens will be like Christmas.
None, since it only goes to 300 yards ;)
If it was a golf course it would of been done in a month. Didn't they just get $3 million to finish?
This range will be finished just in time for my sons 18 birthday! What a great gift it will be! He's 5 right now.
Dan, Beginning to think so. Curious as to what will be allowed on the various ranges also. Called FWC, no can tell as they don't know.
provably never. they are either to stupid to know how to get money for it, or they just don't want to deal with it anymore. there is this website called gofundme and I'm sure we would be more than happy to help, but they don't GAF or are just too stupid.
