It depends on the event. The graduation ceremonies for the area high schools are largely held there.

Directly from their website, event dependant:   ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES No alcohol (including non-alcoholic beer and wine) or illegal drugs may be brought into the Siegel Center. Once inside the building, alcoholic beverages can be purchased; event permitting. For VCU collegiate events alcoholic beverages will not be served.  For selected special events alcoholic beverages will be sold throughout the arena.
