You should call them directly. I know they have volunteers but not sure of the qualifications.

if you are talking about the ASPCA on elm st extention? i think thats the street...they are all volunteers there and would love the help. I know a woman who volunteers A LOT of her time there. She said you have to fill out an application and then theres a process ypu fo through...probably some kind of background check? idk all of the details but my daughter was just talking to her about this a few weeks ago :) you have a big heart to want to help :)
