There is definitely early check-in but request way in advance and if you request online then call to confirm. The distance from Costa Mesa to LAX is too far for a shuttle, shuttles are more local. You'll be better off using Lyft/Uber.

Early check in yes, but shuttle service is negative is about 45 to an hour away from the airport depending on traffic which is always a mess headed back to LAX
