We have a game called SplatMaster for kids 7 and up. Low impact for kids 10 and up Billy ball for 12 and up and then standard paintball for ages 14 and up. These are recommendations, parents ultimately decide on what type of paintball is best suited for their kids.
I think it depemdsn on the child, his/her athlectic ability and tolerance for pain. We took a 9 yr old w us last time but before we went to the field we put him 30ft out in the yard and shot him. Did it hurt? Yes. Did he wince? Yes. Did he cry? No. Ok he's good to go! Game day wewr lng sleeves, maybe add a sweatshirt to reduce the sting, and long pants will help. Paintballs at close range sting and will leave a good welt in some cases. Usually the adrenaline of playing makes the stimg less, have a ball and enjoy. In the end we left the field w all new gear for the 9yr old and he had the best day ever. Go try it and bring everyone! The flks at Hogans are awesome and if they have a good crowed they can suggest a Newbie group to play with/against. Good luck...Duck!
Chari, we only rent gear for on site use. We recommend playing at our facility to ensure a safe day of play. You can book a private group for 12 through our website or join open play to play with other players. http://www.hogansalleypaintball.com/paintball.html
