Do I need old reg to transfer plates to a new car ? I just reg.the older car in August do I have to pay the full amount of the plates I just got on August or will I get credit towards the transfer of plates ?

Yes, you need your old registration to transfer plates to a new vehicle. You can check with your town clerk regarding fees.
