As a general rule, if you are younger than 16 years old you can volunteer but you have to bring a chaperone because they claim that this is a safety issue. As soon as you turn 16 years old you can do things such as laundry, walk some dogs outside, put pictures of adoptable animals on the internet or clean the barn to name only a few chores.
