I have two baby kittens my grandsons found in a barrel in our yard. We can't keep them because we have a Shepard, Rotwieller and Chow mixed dog, whom by the way, chased off their mother. They are only a couple days old. Please help!!!

Take them to KC Pet Project on Raytown Road immediately. They can care for them properly.

Just a thought you might put a little food out for the mother near whether you found the kittens. You might be able to gain her confidence and at least you know she's healthy as well. KC Pet Project may have some other suggestions for you. Perhaps a live trap or something else. I'll leave it to the experts

Any chance you can get the Mama kitty to take with them? Or even after you do. If KC Pet Project can't take them for some reason you can also try Wayside Waifs. They are a no kill shelter

Hilary, I'm not sure where mother is. She ran away when our dog spotted her. Thanks Pat, KC Pet called back, they wanted $40 per kitten. I'm on a fixed income, so I'll try the food, but it's so cold in the mornings I hate to leave kittens out there.
