Have had great experiences with KC Pet Project. They have always done a good job of looking out for the animals first. There are a couple locations here in KC just look up KC Pet Project.
You can take her, but there is a drop off fee of 20 dollars. They suggest finding a new home yourself.
I would call the main shelter and get some answers, is it a dog?
