Yes it is. Much less crowded and more intimate...if a zoo can be intimate.

Yes, they deliver two totally different experiences. Think of one as a well funded commercial venture built to make money, the other as a more intimate, budget friendly experience. If you do go, be sure to go early in the morning, as the animals are far more active and not hiding in the shade.

I believe so, coming from a San Diegan very familiar with that zoo. This is not a mammoth zoo like those you mention, but is focused very closely and expertly on the plants and animals native to the region. If you have the chance, I'd strongly recommend taking the guided tour.

Yes! This Zoo showcases a wide variety of species that inhabit the deserts of our world. It also offers hiking trails where your likely to come across Big Horn Sheep.
