My wife says to wait till she finishes her heat the a month an a half later it will be safe to do
At this stuff point she's probably in heat enough to affect her surgery. We can still spay her for you if it's totally necessary (if you're concerned about intact males around) but there will be an additional fee. The surgery does take longer while they're in heat due to increased blood flow to their internal organs. There is some increased risk due to this also. We usually like to wait until about 6 weeks after they've stopped bleeding. (I am a veterinary assistant at Affordable Vet Care)
