It's the "family style" they promote. It's suppose to bring people together, and chat it up. This might not be the best place to go if you want a "romantic, secluded, or intimate dinner for two".
Agree with Angela. It isn't rude but a social style they practice.
They have 1 community table by the bar. They are awesome. They do get busy and try to accommodate. Seems like there was a misunderstanding. Maybe that seating was offered. I have had a drink & waited there for my table.
