Looking at going from a 2500HD 6’bed to an 8’ bed. Since it’s hard to find one with only an extended cab, I’m able to find only crew cabs. That yields a long truck. What have long bed folks found challenging about having a long bed truck?

We bought a Ford F-350 with the crew cab and long bed and it is a pain in the park we typically have to park in back Lots or alternative parking spaces. With the aluminum body at the Ford we were whacked by a car door within 8 hours of having the truck and was dented. We now park as far away from the stores as possible. Parking in a typical parking lot the truck will take up the full space plus 1/3 of the space of the parking space behind. But we're loving the truck and are glad we got it.

Strongly recommend long bed. So many more options. We have Ram 3500 with 8 ft bed. Can park in standard parking spaces for most part. Happy with our choice and we have crew cab.
