Yes, there is a designated area to pitch a tent. You get to that area before reaching the beach area. There is a sign for camping on the right side of the road.

Yes you can and there is also designated tent sites for overnight camping.

I was at Fort Desoto yesterday 8/19/18 and there was a helicopter spraying what looked to be pink stuff out over the water fairly close to the beach/swimmers. I contacted the park and they suspected mosquito control but unsure. Anyone know anything?
