We spent 6 hours with Captain Gene on an inshore fishing trip around Tampa Bay. Gene was clearly knowledgeable about the area and an experienced fisherman. He led us right to a great area for red fish. We caught way more than other boats in the area. Then it was off for sharks. We hooked more sharks than I can count and my 12 year old daughter had an amazing experience she'll never forget hooking multiple sharks. We saved snook for last and it was nice to relax a little with some smaller fish. The trip was for my father in-law's birthday and he had a blast watching his granddaughters reel in fish after fish. I would highly recommend Captain Gene for an entertaining day on the water.

Outstanding day on the water with Capt Gene. We started slow-trolling for kings, but they weren't cooperating. We then switched gears, headed to the flats, and had one of the best bites I've experienced in 30+ years of fishing Tampa Bay. Reds and snook galore. Captain Gene worked hard to get us on fish and it paid off. Great boat, excellent captain, and an incredible experience. Highly recommended.

Where to begin…first, Captain Gene and his enthusiasm were apparent from the moment we arrived at the marina. He was all ready to go, and his excitement was contagious. When we got out to open water, it was time to do what we had gone there to do - catch some big fish, have a great time, and make some memories. We did that and then some. My wife, myself, and our two teenage sons all had the chance to bring in some huge Black Drum fish. We literally caught so many that we lost count. We would absolutely recommend Island Lure Fishing Charters LLC to anyone looking to have a fun, laid back, genuinely entertaining experience. We look forward to going out on the water again with Captain Gene.

Captain Gene was very patient in handling new comers to fishing. He knew all the good fishing spots and moved constantly to find an even better fishing hole. We had a wonderful time on the water and were able to catch 19 fish during our 4 hour excursion. Money well spent.
