Great fishing spot!

Very beautiful & clean pier. We did see some manatees as well. Some spots for shade which is fantastic but hard to get if they are occupied and most people will take the whole thing versus sharing an area. I suggest bringing plenty of liquids to drink and some food. The bait shop/restrooms are not air-conditioned and they close at 4pm so they are not available the entire time the peir is open which is until 830. So big bummer there. Overpriced as well. 3 icecreams came out to $15.Otherwise seems to be a great spot to check out.

Really neat place to watch wildlife. I went to the North Beach to see the wildlife but stopped here to find lots of birds too. They all seem to have acclimated to human presence and perch just a few feet away on the pier. During the 45 minutes on the pier I saw Great Blue Herons, White Ibis, Cormorants, Snowy Egrets and several others all perched along the pier. Flying nearby were Brown Pelicans, Royal Terns. Definitely worth a visit.

DON'T SKIP THE FISHING PIER...An awesome pier that is included in the $5 park admission. It has lights and is open until past dark. Great location to take the family, DEFINITE FUN! Saw quite a few dolphins, manatee and wildlife. Family friendly, handicap accessible and restrooms. Great location to fish with a bait shop and fish cleaning stations, plus people were catching fish. Great place to spend a few hours, then hit the beach and check out the fort! If you found my review helpful please give it a thumbs up so it can help others too.
