I thank my friend who's a baker and is gluten intolerant for her insight after she tried the bread. I called the bakery about 30 minutes ago and asked about their labeling. I first spoke with the order taker, who informed me that my question was too technical. He then transferred me to the bakery manager. I reiterated my question and was informed that the breads do indeed have wheat, gluten, and yeast. When I asked why they weren't listed as ingredients, he responded "we're working on relabeling because a lot of people are confused about that." I let it be known that there isn't any confusion on my behalf, it's deceitful labeling! I have been purchasing the oatmeal bread, the millet bread, bagels, and hot dog buns and have spent hundreds of dollars to now find out that I was being mislead the entire time! The company does have a different baking facility in which they do bake "certified gluten free products." However, I will not invest another cent into such a deceitful company!
I called n the person I talked to said this is made in a facility where they do make regular bread products n hence the labeling. But they do have a separate facility for fully gluten free (n think pricing is $1 more a loaf)
I understand the situation. Is their any chance you will be making space so you can have a dedicated area for gluten free??????? Wal-Mart managers have money set aside to promote local products but the label would have to read gluten free. If label had that I could get it in the store in Arcadia, Fl.
