For cats, it is free. When I scheduled my cat to go in, the earliest appointment was about a month from the day I was calling, just to give you an idea of how long it can take to get in for that particular service. There is a price for dogs that varies based on weight. The prices can be found on their website.
You don't have to live in clay in order to take them in. If you cant reach them on phone you will need to go there and set up appt. I was just there and there booked till march for cats.
I know cats are free. Ive taken 4 there and that includes rabies shots.
Think it's just free for cats...dogs are much cheaper than other vets though
Yes, Clay County Humane Society does spay/neuter /rabies vax all cats regardless of income or home county. Intake is longer wait for females than males (4 mos at times) so don't wait to make an appointment for a kitten! Rabies vaccination is included. Only 5$ fee for elective-laser on females which heals faster than standard wounds.
Male cats can usually schedule much sooner than females. Currently female schedules r in March at soonest. Just a note cats surgerically altered r also given their rabie shot free at same time.
Correct. Appointments for owned cats on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursday's and Fridays. Stray (feral) cats are done on a first come, first served basis, first 50 in the door on Wednesdays. Must truly be a feral, unhandlable cat to come in on a Wednesday. Appointments are booked out as you can imagine since the spay/neuter AND the rabies shot is free.
On Wednesdays really early in the morning they spay/neuter 50 cats no appt first come first serve. Keep in mind some people bring multiple cats that are captured where they reside at area dumpsters etc to be fixed and released to prevent more feral cats.
Yes it's free for cats not sure about dogs
Judith, i dont think you need to

Keep in mind that all cats need to be in their own kennels when bringing in feral cats for soaying and neutering
