The Patton house, son in law of the Gamble Mansion owner. Not a slave house by any means, take the tour, it's very educational. I worked there before the Patton house was moved there.
Whether this building was a slave house or not, the location and the fortunes of the Gamble family were both certainly based on the unpaid labor of enslaved people. I hope that this truth is included in the tours, and the tours do not simply focus on the elegant lives of the owners and enslavers.
Slave house, I think it is being moved.
The plantation was in disrepair. So this house was built. One of daughters (ellen) stayed many years. Very few people it came to be known as Ellen town. Over the years shortened to Ellenton. The house has a rich history. Owned by daughters of the confederacy. Common type slave house at manatee historical village. May be a slave house at sutton park. Basically a large closet. You might be surprised
