It wont be much right now. Also the wild fire and the smoke may affect it too (although not sure of that). You should try around end of November.

My wife and I try to get there to Monterey every June on our Wedding anniversary so the Butterflies aren't out flying around much. But in The Harvests season, there out flying around more I hear.Thank you so much God for your Amazing and Wonderful creation

The Museum issues a weekly count of how many butterflies are resident at the sanctuary. Usually there are enough to see by mid November. Often they group together with wings folded. 4 pm on a sunny day usually gives you a good chance of seeing them in flight.

We only saw 3. We were told they come out when it's warmer. Probably there now. It was about 60 when we were there.
