Like David alluded to, because the North Pacific currents come down from the north (Artic) the water will always be relatively cold on the West coast. June through late August will be the warmest times based on a small increase in water temp and increased air temps to warm you up quicker once you are out.
Would advise a wetsuit and get the tides report
It was really cold the first week of May... and it wasn't a perfectly sunny day. The sands were also cold at mid-day...
It is cold!
If you like 54 degree water then yes.
Too cold in May
Sure, but water might be a bit cold.
June is better. May still tends to be cold out. The water is always cold but its not so bad on a 80 degree day.
