The air shows ended because thousands of attendees would park on neighbor’s driveways and lawns. The old air show location is gone, it has a new fire station and helicopter facility. There is still an occasional open house event at various locations in the airport.
I dont believe there is one here anymore, thanks to greedy politicians and others. LA City decided the Van Nuys Airshow wasnt profitable enough for them and havent had one in awhile. Plus, idiot neighbors (NIMBYs) whined about the noise. Their delicate ears couldnt handle the one weekend a year show! I believe there might be smaller events at VNA occasionally. There was an event called "Wings of Freedom" where a B-17 (Aluminum Overcast), a B-24, and some other warbirds were on display a year or two ago. I think people were able to go for a ride in it, too, if they could manage the fee.
