If you want to hike before hellman park open's go to turnbull canyon road, but you have to park about 3 blocks away in the resident's , there is no gate there , and i think it connects to hellman park trail but its pretty far.
No and be careful where you park in the residents as some require parking permits.
Gate is closed until park hours. 9am to 5pm
