It generally always took DMV a few weeks to mail back registration tags prior to Covid. Things are slower now. One would be better off going directly. Suggest contacting bank to stop payment and go directly. Go 30 minutes before they open. You won't spend all day there.

They are probably behind on their processing. When I was there a couple of days ago, they were only taking customers who's registration had already expired
