Chips are implanted subdermally between the shoulder blades, however as they are not locked in place to a muscle or the skin itself (which would be hazardous to the animal's health) they have a tendency to move around the animal, most stay near where they are implanted but not all.
Thas not really normally spot back of the neck it's the normal and the best place for that..¡!¡
