Hi, my parakeet or budgie is 13 or 12 weeks. I want to start giving him baths, but when he touches the water he jumps away. I use lukewarm water, and a wide bowl he had gotten used to. and my 4 year old parakeet loves it. What do I do?

I agree with the above, especially the light, gentle misting. It simulates rain. I even spray above them & let it fall down. If it doesn't like it, wait & try later. Mine often bathe early in a.m. especially on cold days outside. Also often when vacuum ran after cleaning cages & putting in fresh water.

I have two birds. Both of them take a bath in their water bowl. Which is cold water. And they seem very happy to do this everyday almost. You have a young bird there he'll get used to it. But you probably don't need to warm the water

Try colder water, all of my birds, which I have 5, use there water bowl. I have to change it more but it is at there own time. No pressure.

Let the young one get use to the bowl without water in it for awhile. Add water a little at a time. He'll adapt. WoooHooo
