You need to keep feeding your bird seed. I don't think you should replace his seed with veggies. Mix fruits and veggies in a separate dish from his seed dish this way he can choose, you can also buy bird toys that you stick treats in them so it makes it fun for them. I have 2 parrot's they will eat chicken, rice, beans, beef, pasta, etc. I'm sure you know that you need to avoid chocolate and avocado this will make your bird sick. Good luck!
What kind of bird is it.
I have 5 birds, some eat veggies and some don't, don't worry, they have veggies pellets, try those.
Agreed. If your bird wasn't fed a variety of foods when young, it may not be used to it. I wouldn't restrict other foods too much. Mine like apples, oranges, and greens like Swiss Chard and Mallow, which grows wild in our yard. Make sure all are well washes with no pesticides, etc. A good way to feed a variety is frozen mixed veggies from the store. You can microwave a small amount to thaw. Good luck!
Not all birds like veggies and fruit. If you do give your bird fruit make sure it is ripe.
I put a small bowl on the side of the cage above the food bowl that has vegetables. I give my bird as many opportunities to eat vegetables as possible
My bird, who us now 18, used to love veggies and fruit and now he hardly wants them. I find if I give him a little less bird food, he'll eat more fruits and veggies. Also, like the person who first replied, keep trying new things. Good luck!
My birds are very particular about what they eat. Don't worry about it if they won't eat something. Just keep trying different foods.
